During this time she has been involved with some major changes including simplification, RDR and pension freedoms.

Basil joined Legal & General in September 2018 from ARAG plc, a legal expenses insurance specialist where he managed the company’s key insurer relationships.
He previously worked for Allianz as a Partnership Development Manager creating new corporate partner relationships with banks, building societies, large retailers and vehicle manufacturers.
Basil works with our key accounts in the South West of England and Northern Ireland, helping them to grow their business through our range of retirement solutions.

Ian started at Legal & General in March 2019 and joined us from LV= where he was responsible for distributing their pre and post retirement propositions including fixed term annuities (FTA) to a panel of advisers across the Midlands, including some of the major pension and annuity distributors.
He previously worked at AIG promoting and distributing ‘Guaranteed Drawdown’ to intermediaries in the Midlands area. Ian has attained the Pensions Transfer qualification, AF7.

Tom started at Legal & General in January 2021 and joined us from Old Mutual, a specialist platform business where he was responsible for distributing their investment proposition to advisers.
Tom previously worked at MetLife, with distribution responsibilities for their pre and post retirement propositions including unit linked guaranteed drawdown and fixed term annuities.

Hazel leads our Business Development team with a goal to support intermediaries with holistic retirement planning via our annuity offering. Hazel and the team enjoy developing consultative relationships with advisers and firms; helping to grow their businesses, as well as delivering value for their clients.
With a background in advisory roles herself, Hazel understands first-hand the importance of getting things right and the benefit that holistic advice can provide.
She joined Legal & General in 2022 as a Market Development Manager and then Business Development Director for Retail Annuities in March 2024.
Hazel is level 4 qualified and holds her Certificate in Regulated Equity Release and Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice too.

Cecilia leads a team with a shared mission to broaden Legal & General’s distribution reach, support intermediaries and develop our annuity partnership opportunities in the market. The team build partnerships and consultative relationships with advisers and firms; helping to grow their businesses, as well as delivering value for their clients.
Cecilia’s career stretches over 20 years in financial services, during which time she has held key roles at various providers.
She joined Legal & General in 2018 as Head of Strategic Partnerships and then Distribution Director for Retail Annuities in 2023.
Cecilia is a member of the Personal Finance Society and has a postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
